Acetyl L-Carnitine crosses the blood-brain barrier and is necessary for biosynthesis of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter needed for normal nerve activity in the body.

L-carnitine and Acetyl L-carnitine have backed claims of anti-aging and nutrient regenerating properties and the effects of supplementing with them have been extensively researched in many areas including exercise performance, weight loss, treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's, diabetic depression and many other neurological disorders.
